Nothing Phone 3a Pro – A New Experienced Review:

Design

This phone is quite bold and unique in terms of design. It not only stands out from competitors but also looks quite different from its predecessors while still maintaining Nothing’s design essence.

The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was its less curved edges. I liked this and hope future models reduce the curvature even more.

Another aspect I appreciated is the flat glass back, reminiscent of Phone (1)!

Color Variants

Phone (3a) Pro comes in two color variants:

  • Black: Though it’s dark-colored, fingerprints are easily visible on the back panel.
  • Platinum: This variant looks more premium, and the details appear sharper.

Build Quality

  • Matte Finish: Feels smoother compared to previous models.
  • Dust Resistance: Dark colors make dust more visible on the edges.
  • Weight: Weighing 216 grams, it may feel slightly heavy.

Photography

This phone is a major upgrade in photography. People often complained about Nothing’s camera quality, but that has changed now.

  • 50MP 3x Zoom: Captures high-quality details.
  • Optical Zoom: Offers 3x, 4x, and 6x zoom without quality loss.
  • 60x Digital Zoom: AI processing makes it quite impressive.
  • Night Mode: Improved with more natural colors.
  • Macro Mode: Zooms up to 6x while maintaining good detail.
  • Front Camera: Bigger and of better quality than before.

New Button – Essential Key

I initially thought this button wouldn’t be useful, but I changed my mind!

  • Quick Access: Double-press to quickly note important tasks.
  • Voice Command: Instantly record thoughts, and AI converts them into text.
  • Multilingual Support: Supports multiple languages, though it’s primarily English-focused for now.

Software – OS 3.1

I have liked Nothing’s software, especially after OS 3.0. If you are a new user, you’ll enjoy it! However, some areas could be improved:

  • Data Transfer: Very smooth, with complete layout and system settings copied easily.
  • Camera App UI: Now more user-friendly.
  • Customization: Finding the option to hide the Google bar is still tricky.
  • Brightness Control: Requires two swipes to adjust, which can be a bit annoying.
  • Night Shift Feature: Needs more customization options.
  • eSIM Support: Available in the 3a Pro but not in India.

Audio

The speaker quality of this phone is incredible! I thought Phone (2) speakers were already good, but (3a) surprised me.

  • Deep Bass: Sound is more intense than before.
  • Clear Audio: Sounds clearer and more balanced.

Display

  • Full HD+ Resolution
  • 1300 nits peak brightness (manual), reaching up to 3000 nits for HDR content.
  • Outdoor Visibility: Improved, and the purple pixel issue at low brightness is resolved.

Battery Performance

  • 5000mAh Battery: Easily lasts a full day.
  • Charging Speed: 49% charge in just 20 minutes, and 14% in 5 minutes.
  • Reverse Charging: Not wireless, but can charge other devices via cable.

Target Audience

This device is ideal for those who:

  • Love photography.
  • Prefer unique and industrial designs.
  • Are content creators and multitaskers.
  • Want a balance between gaming and productivity.
  • Need features like eSIM and fast charging.

Pros:

  • Excellent camera quality (optical zoom up to 6x)
  • Incredible sound quality – crystal clear with deep bass
  • Improved display (no more purple-green pixel issues)
  • Essential Key feature boosts productivity
  • Great value for money considering the price
  • Fast charging and long battery life

Cons:

  • Feels slightly heavy (216g)
  • No wireless charging option
  • Limited customization options
  • eSIM support not available in India yet

If you love photography, design, and multitasking, this phone is a perfect choice for you.
